Natural Stone New Braunfels Builders Choose Slab by Slab
New Braunfels is building custom, and custom clients pick the slab themselves. KJM Stones keeps a yard where that is actually possible: every piece of natural stone New Braunfels builders bring a client to see is tagged, viewable and reserved to the specific slab rather than to a color name.
We import quartzite, granite, marble, dolomite and soapstone direct from quarries in Brazil, India and Vietnam through the Port of Houston, about 35 minutes down I-35 from you. We sell material only and do not fabricate, so we never compete with the shops we supply.
Everything in the yard is premium material, natural stone and engineered quartz alike. We do not carry a second tier.
Stone that suits Hill Country homes
Warm and characterful rather than cool and uniform. Maharajah with its golden amber veining. Azzurra Bay in a leathered finish. Brownie Quartzite. Niagara Black Soapstone for ranch kitchens. Honed and leathered finishes are stocked rather than special order, so the natural stone New Braunfels designers specify is on the ground when the job is ready. Browse the Natural Stone range.

Choosing natural stone New Braunfels clients will keep
Quartzite is the first choice for custom work: it reads like marble, outperforms it on hardness, and every block is different, which is exactly what a one-off house wants. Granite is denser and effectively heatproof, so it stays the safe pick in a hard-working kitchen. Soapstone is soft, non-porous and ages into a patina rather than staining. Marble and dolomite give the softest look and ask the most care in return.
Direct from the quarry
We buy full containers at the source and land them at the Port of Houston, so the slab in our yard has not passed through three distributors on the way to you. Blocks are inspected before they ship and graded against the standards published by the Natural Stone Institute; the U.S. Geological Survey publishes useful background on how dimension stone is quarried and classified.
Finishes, thickness and care
We stock 2cm and 3cm in polished, honed and leathered. Leathered finishes hide fingerprints and water spots, which is why they do so well on dark stone in a working ranch kitchen. Sealing intervals vary by material, and our care guide covers what each one needs.
