About Fantasy Lux Quartzite

Fantasy Lux Quartzite is what happens when a stone decides to look like the sky. The base is a bright, luminous white, and across it move veins of blue, from a soft slate blue to something closer to indigo, that flow through the slab in long, unhurried curves. There is no hard edge to the veining; it blends into the white the way ink spreads in water. It is a cool, calm, quietly spectacular stone, and it is one of the very few natural quartzites where the color really is blue rather than gray pretending to be.

Blue that is actually blue

Genuinely blue natural stone is rare. Most "blue" quartzites are gray or gray-green that reads blue in a showroom and disappoints at home. Fantasy Lux Quartzite carries true blue mineral veining in a white quartz ground, and because the veins are flowing rather than linear, a single slab has a sense of movement that most stones only achieve when book-matched. Polished, the white turns almost glassy and the blue deepens, which is why we stock it polished rather than honed.

From Brazil, premium grade, 3 cm

Our Fantasy Lux Quartzite is quarried in Brazil, and we bring in premium-grade bundles. In this stone, grade shows in the whiteness of the ground and the clarity of the blue: lesser slabs carry a gray haze between the veins that dulls the whole effect. Everything we stock is 3 cm and polished. Because the veining flows, slabs from the same bundle tend to share a direction of movement, and consecutive slabs can be laid so the pattern continues across a seam or mirrors on an island end.

Marble looks, quartzite behavior

The stone most people compare it to is a blue-veined marble, and on looks the comparison holds. In use it does not. Fantasy Lux is a true quartzite: it does not etch when lemon or wine sits on it, a knife will not scratch it, and it stands up to daily kitchen use in a way a blue marble never will. Like all quartzite it is slightly porous and should be sealed at installation and re-sealed periodically. Whether a slab needs sealing depends on the stone itself, not on its price; the Natural Stone Institute sets out when a stone countertop should be sealed and when it does not need to be.

Where Fantasy Lux belongs

Kitchens with white or pale cabinetry, where the blue veining becomes the only color in the room and the whole space feels cooler and calmer for it. Primary bathrooms, where a Fantasy Lux vanity and a matching shower wall make the room feel like water. Coastal and lake houses, for the obvious reason. It is also a strong outdoor-kitchen stone in the Texas sun; quartzite does not fade, and the white ground stays cool underhand in a way dark stone does not. It pairs naturally with polished nickel and chrome, with pale oak, and with navy or white cabinetry. Warm brass and dark walnut fight it.

What we hear at the yard

Is the blue consistent?

Within a bundle, yes, in tone; the amount of blue varies slab to slab. Some are mostly white with a few sweeping veins, some are heavily marked. Both are correct Fantasy Lux; which you want depends on the room.

Will the blue fade?

No. It is mineral color inside the stone, not a surface treatment, and quartzite is not affected by UV.

Can it be book-matched?

Yes, and it is one of the best stones for it because the veins flow. Ask for sequential slabs.
